The Washington University Minority Medical Association (WUMMA) is an inter-departmental organization of residents and fellows at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in our hospital and greater St. Louis community.
The goal of the organization is not only to foster an inclusive medical community, but also to support the professional and personal development and retention of under-represented minority (URM) medical trainees.
Our members are both URMs and allies and we welcome everyone! WUMMA assists with resident recruitment and organizes social, career development, mentorship and outreach events.
WUMMA is 100% run by residents and fellows with the support of the Washington University Office of Diversity Programs.
